break at the 11th Colloquium meeting - 2001

Colleagues enjoy a break between paper sessions at the 11th Colloquium on the Conservation of Mammals in the Southeastern United States held at the Fogelman Center in Memphis, TN. The meeting was held in conjunction with the 6th Annual Meeting of the Southeastern Bat Diversity Network. The events were hosted by Dr. Michael Kennedy, professor of biology at the University of Memphis.


Dr. Michael Kennedy (left), University of Memphis, presented the award for the Best Student Paper to John L. Hunt, a Ph.D. candidate at Auburn University. The award was granted at the 11th Annual Colloquium on the Conservation of Mammals in the Southesastern U. S. which was held in Memphis, TN. John has been involved in numerous studies of bats in Alabama, the southwestern United States, and Mexico. The title of the award-winning talk was "Winter roost caves of Mexican free-tailed bats (Tadarida brasiliensis mexicana) from Carlsbad Caverns National Park, New Mexico."
